March for Meals 2010

March 24th 12 noon

The March will begin on Texas Street in front of the courthouse and we will march to the entertainment district under the Red River Bridge.

Please join us to raise awareness of our senior hunger in Caddo Parish . It is hard to imagine in this country... the land of prosperity...that thousands of elderly are literally starving to death.  You might think that this happens in other areas but it is happening here in Caddo Parish.  Our frail homebound seniors need your help.  Currently we are serving 1020 seniors but that number will be decreased soon because of severe budget cuts.  This could be your mother or  your grandfather ...just think about this vital service being cut from your loved one. 
We feel that Meals on Wheels is one of the vital programs that help our seniors living at home.  Bring your contribution and your walking shoes to the courthouse on Texas Street..so no senior goes hungry in Caddo Parish!
If you can’t find your walking shoes on March 24^th you can still help us by making a donation. You can donate on line or send us a check to 4015 Greenwood Road, Shreveport, LA  71109.  Your donation will be 100% tax deductible.  Please help us so no senior will go hungry in Caddo Parish.

Also exciting news!  Raising Canes is doing a promotion for us on Thursday March 25th.  15% of all proceeds of all sales from 3pm-7pm will be donated to the Meals on Wheels Program.  All locations in Shreveport and Bossier will be participating.  They are located at:

We are asking everyone to drop by Raising Canes on Thursday between 3-7 and either dine in or pick up to benefit Meals on Wheels!!!!!
